Shelby Hyland is a Professional Engineer and Project Manager at Edison. Prior to joining in 2023, she began her professional career in structural design, focusing on the analysis of existing industrial, commercial, and school structures across Southwestern Ontario. She then spent five years specializing in the new design and renovation of wood-framed single and multi-family residential structures. Where she developed a deep understanding of navigating building code requirements to deliver safe and compliant designs.

Shelby integrates her expertise in structural design into building restoration projects across all aspects of project delivery, including building assessments, developing repair strategies, specifications, construction review, and contract administration. Her diverse portfolio includes parking garages, balconies, attics, and basement foundations. With a detail-oriented approach, Shelby ensures tailored, practical solutions that blend innovative design with effective restoration strategies to deliver lasting results. She is dedicated to ensuring clients feel confident and informed throughout the repair process.

Outside of work, Shelby enjoys staying active through volleyball and ultimate frisbee, exploring the outdoors, and spending quality time with her family.

Excellence is doing ordinary things extraordinarily well.
